David Grossman ACU Death, Obituary - Abilene Christian University Student Is Dead
David Joseph Grossman, lovingly known to many as DJ, passed away on May 28, 2026, at the age of 21 following a sudden medical emergency in Abilene, Texas. His passing brought profound sadness to his family, friends, and the Abilene Christian University community, where he had been pursuing his education and building meaningful relationships. Though his life was tragically short, the love and memories he leaves behind continue to hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew him.

Born on October 23, 2004, in Mineola, New York, David was the beloved son of Rachelle and David Grossman and a cherished brother to his twin sister, Kaylee, and his older sister, Alexandra. He grew up surrounded by family love and developed a personality that friends and loved ones remembered for its warmth, humor, and genuine care for others. His passing has left a painful absence in the lives of those who shared in his journey, from his family to the friends who watched him grow into a young man of faith and compassion.

At Abilene Christian University, David was a Bible and Ministry major who had recently completed his junior year. He also served as a student leadership representative with LYNAY, a group dedicated to encouraging student engagement and service within the university and the wider Abilene community. His commitment to faith was reflected not only in his studies but also in the way he connected with people and sought opportunities to help others.

David died while serving through his summer internship at the Abilene Food Pantry, continuing a commitment to helping people in need. Those who remembered him spoke of a young man whose humor could brighten a room and whose kindness made others feel welcomed and valued. He enjoyed discussing theology, sharing food and music, traveling with his family, and spending meaningful time with the people closest to him. These memories reflect a life defined not simply by its length but by the care and joy he brought to others.

As his family, friends, classmates, and mentors continue to mourn, David’s legacy lives on through the relationships he built and the compassion he showed. His family invited those wishing to honor his memory to contribute to the David Grossman Memorial Scholarship Fund, allowing his name to remain connected to the university and the community that meant so much to him. Although his absence will be deeply felt, the memories of his laughter, faith, and generous spirit offer a lasting tribute to a young life that touched many others. May David Joseph Grossman be remembered with love, and may those grieving his loss find comfort in the support of one another.
